What Are Mommies Good For Anyway?

I wrote these questions out of sheer frustration one night.  Since I usually write out my posts on notebook paper first, I grabbed my spiral bound notebook and feverishly wrote out the title and these questions.   Getting distracted and being unable to finish writing, I left my notebook on the kitchen table.  In the morning, to my surprise and humbling delight, I found answers to my questions written in my oldest son's handwriting.  Thought I would let you enjoy his responses.

What are mommies good for anyway?

She constantly spoils your fun...
...only to make you smarter by doing school.

She makes you clean your room and your body...
...which needs to be done every day.

She makes you go to bed...
...duh!

She yells at you after the 15th time she told you to do something...
...she shouldn't have to do that.

She forces you outside of your comfort zone...
...building confidence.

She grounds you from the things you love most...
...because we need some form of discipline.

She makes you say "please" and "thank you"...
...well they are the magic words.

She gets a little crazy about you playing in your Sunday clothes...
...which are expensive, by the way.

She makes you pray out loud...
...uh, I got nothing.

He may not understand why I encourage him (and the other children) to pray out loud,
but he is grasping a lot of the other things.
I was beginning to wonder!

Blessings to all the mommies out there
who are good for MANY things!

Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed the first one about spoiling the child's fun to make him smarter.
