A Valentine Poem Inspired by Dr. Seuss

This is a poem for my wife
A poem for my wife is this
For my wife a poem I write
A poem I write for my wife

This is my life I love my wife
My wife is the love of my life
I love my wife the love of my life
The love of my life is my wife

This is a poem for my wife
My wife is the love of my life
I love my wife the love of my life
A poem for my wife is this

For my wife a poem I write
The love of my life is my wife
A poem I write for my wife
This is my life I LOVE MY WIFE

I was having trouble locating a picture of us from 2003 so I got as close as I could!  This is a poem that Steve wrote for me nine years ago, in fact, it is the only poem he has ever written for me.  So I kept it and treasured it, of course.  My man is not much for writing things down and I think I have every piece of paper or card he has ever written to me.  They are priceless to me; not because I don't value his spoken words which he is more gifted than written words, but because they is so rare.  When something is rare and valued, it is treasured beyond that which is less rare.

Enough of the serious stuff?  This will get you.  This poem was written because we were told that whoever wrote the winning poem got their meal free at the Valentine banquet!  Now you can laugh!  We all had a good laugh, but it did not make this any less special!

Do you have a special Valentine keepsake that you treasure from the man of your dreams?

How sweet! :) My hubby has written a few short lines for me in the past, and it is SO special because it's from his heart. :)

That is so sweet! I'd have held on to it, too!

My husband and I have a leather-bound journal that we write to each other in. I love going back through it and reading the entries. Most of his are written before 4am as he is preparing to leave for work!

Jill, when you get to peak into your husband's heart and see deep inside, it is so meaningful!

4am?! I didn't know anyone was awake at that time! LOL That is really special for him to take time to write a few lines to his sweetie. :)
