2nd Week On the Road 2011

I did not take this picture, but it looks a lot like some of the roads we have been on this summer.  Our second week out we headed further south to McAllen, TX and did a Kids Week there.  We were able to stay with Hubby's folks and spend a wonderful, yet hectic week!  It had been since Christmas that we had seen them.  Too long!  Our visit felt too short, but we made some good memories!  We were able to squeeze in a shopping trip to a Texas-sized Resale shop and Burlington's!  Did I hear all the girls say, "Yaaaaaay!"?

The services that week were unique in that there were many Spanish-speaking people there.  One of our puppets, named Jose, and from Mexico, felt right at home!  Burrito, his donkey, tried out his Spanish, but as usual butchered it!

We are blessed to be able to share the gospel with so many people in our summer months and love to hear stories of how God works in people's lives.  We heard a precious story this week.  Two young children told their neighbor (who brought them each night to Kids Week) that they had asked Jesus in their heart!  I'm not sure if their dad was a part of their lives, but their mom was not a Christian.  Another seed planted...

On Friday we went fishing on the Jetties with my mother and father-n-law.  The Jetties are on South Padre Island at Port Isabel.  The water was beautiful.  T caught two spotted trout that I will try to post pictures of soon.  I plan to write an almost all picture blog soon.  It will take some doing since I am using a borrowed computer and I have many pictures I'd like to share.

On a side note, if you would like to see some pictures of our Kids Weeks, you can follow us on Facebook.  Just look up "Kidz Bizness" and there will be lots to look at and you can find out more about what we do in the summer.

I'll write more news later.

Blessings to you and yours,

Niki
